How and why she brought under CFLD?
During the survey of fellow land area for selection of cluster of pulse crop production, we select the large patches around 05 hectare in Jobla village. This land was belongs to tribal farmers community, they kept this land as barren land. We approached this group of farmers through farmers meeting for coverage of pulse crop in fellow land area. The women farmers showed her interest and respond to KVK as desired for horse gram cultivation. The women farmers taken initiative of activity in group resources available for horse gram cultivation as instruct by KVK Ramgarh.
Existing practice before adopting CFLD recommendation
Due to barren land there were no cultivation practices since long in this land.
Details of inputs and technology provided
Seed, Variety of Birsa Kulthi 1 + Bavistin with Rhizobium culture for seed treatment +line sowing, two Foliar spray of NPK 19:19:19 at 45 and 60 days old crops @ 4.0 kg./ha. And spray of neem oil (Neemarin) at the time of pod formation @ 2.5 ltr/ ha.

KVK provided the three stage training, 1st at sowing time 2nd at 40 days crop and 3rd at flowering stages and provide the input as per crop requirement. Diagnostic visits and monitoring was done regularly by the KVK scientist and farmers on field at different stages of crop.
Field day observed
Due to monitoring and regularly activity done by the farmers, the crop was quite good. At the stage of flowering and pod formation, organised the field day on dated 23/11/16 at farmers field. More than 55 farmers were participated and share his experiences about horse gram cultivation in fellow land area in drought condition. They comment like that, horse gram can give much higher benefit compare to any other crop as the time taken by horse gram with low input cost.
Result- Local check, demo with B:C ratio
After harvesting, the data revealed that, local check yield was obtain 4.5 quintal /ha. and demo area yield was 8.4 q/ha. Which is 100% higher than local check with 1.76:1 B:C ratio.
Feed back in scientific term
If the drought resistant gene will be incorporate in horse gram variety Birsa kulthi-1 that may be helpful for increase the stress period during crucial time of flowering stage and grain filling stage. Because the area selected for preferably available with mostly suffered from moisture stress and drought tolerance may increase yield upto 30 to 40 % in rain fed condition.
